Bonney Rapid Vise Co. appears to have been started by a former partner of the much better known Bonney Vise & Tool Co. After beginning in Philadelphia as Bonney Rapid Transit Vise Co., the firm made a highly unusual relocation for 1887, to Clinton, IA. Unlike its larger namesake, Bonney Rapid Vise Co. only made vises and lathe dogs.
